Time to Put Away the Christmas Trees and Decorations
After the last gift are unwrapped, the Christmas cookies are over, and the last houseguest heads back home, it’s time for the depressing task of packing up your Christmas decorations.
We will help you to it done, we’ve gathered a few packing tips below:
First get motivated. The first supply you need when putting Christmas trees and decorations away is a healthy dose of motivation. Plan a day to pack away your Christmas decorations and make sure you do not schedule anything else for that day.
Invest in large plastic bags / tubs for Christmas decorations storage. But not too large, you don’t want them to be hard to lift. Label the exterior of the bags / tubs with the contents or in what part of the house the Christmas decorations go.
You may likely use the same Christmas decorations in the same places every year. To make decorating easier next year, dismantle Christmas displays and pack them up according to specific areas of the home.
For fabric /cloth items like table linens, tree skirts, stockings, mats and fabric decors laundry them before putting them away for the season; you’ll have a better chance of getting stains out. Make sure they’re completely dry before packing back them up, and store them, folded neatly, in oversized zip-top bags or in vacuum bags.
Here are some tips to keep your LED and Rice lights nice and tidy. All you need to do is start with one end of the strand. Put the first light at the bottom of your palm and pull the 2nd light to the top (vertical across your palm) while you are holding the 2nd one and pull the 3rd down the first one place. Then you keep aligning the odd and even bulbs. Just wrap the remaining cord around and plug it back in! Just try to store each strand of your LED/Rice lights back in its own bag/box.
For fragile Christmas ornaments, save the original packaging for storage else it’s very difficult to preserve them. If you already threw/lost those away, use the tissue paper and bubble wrap from other Christmas deliveries and gifts. Wrap all your Christmas ornament individually in tissue paper and put a layer of bubble wrap around the layers of wrapped Christmas ornaments. Always store your delicate Christmas ornaments on top of the box so that the weight of other Christmas items in the box won’t crush them.
Outdoor Christmas lights are the difficult part and it should be taken down with extra care and stored properly keeping in mind of next year usage. Store each strand of your LED/Rice lights in its own original bag/box to keep them from tangling up with each other.
